[SET]
name: Choice Band
move 1: Crunch
move 2: Dragon Claw
move 3: Earthquake/ Iron Head
move 4: U-turn
item: Choice Band
tera type: Dark/Steel
ability: Protosynthesis
nature: Adamant
evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
When equipped with a Choice Band, Roaring Moon becomes a solid wallbreaker in OU, 2HKOing common physical walls such as Toxapex and Garganacl. Earthquake hits Kingambit, Toxapex, and Garganacl. Alternatively, Iron Head can be run to punish Fairy-types such as Tera Fairy Skeledirge, Iron Valiant, and Hatterene. U-turn is used to pivot out of checks such as Great Tusk and Corviknight, gaining momentum for the team. Tera Dark allows Roaring Moon to OHKO Clodsire and Volcarona with Crunch. Alternatively, a Steel Tera type gives it a resistance to Fairy- Ice- and Dragon-, and normal type moves from Iron Valiant, Dragapult, Baxcalibur, opposing Roaring Moon, and Dragonite, while also improving Iron Head's damage output.
Roaring Moon best fits on bulky offense teams, so teammates that can help out with its Fairy-type weakness such as Corviknight and Skeledirge are appreciated, with Corviknight luring in Gholdengo for Roaring Moon to take advantage of. Great Tusk can use Rapid Spin to clear away entry hazards. Garganacl provides Stealth Rock and can use Salt Cure to chip down Rotom-W and Great Tusk, both of which defensively pose a problem for Roaring Moon, and Amoonguss can provide status support with Spore, forcing switches for Roaring Moon to gain momentum. In turn, Roaring Moon can defeat Gholdengo and Toxapex, which opens up the game for teammates such as Volcarona and Iron Valiant. Volcarona can deal with Corviknight, and Kingambit can weaken Great Tusk when paired with Roaring Moon.
